In a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Final, the Edmonton Oilers visit the Dallas Stars in a Saturday matinee. Last season, the Oilers were down 2-1 in their best-of-seven series against Dallas but rattled off three straight wins to advance to their first Stanley Cup in 18 years.
After starting the season with three straight losses, the Oilers have won two straight, including a 4-2 road triumph at the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Brett Kulak notched two goals in the win.
Dallas, 3-0-0 at home this season, dropped a 3-2 road decision to the Washington Capitals on Thursday as Colin Blackwell and Jason Robertson each had one goal apiece. The Stars were looking to start the season with five straight wins for the first time since 2006-07.

Two of the hottest teams meet north of the border as the New York Rangers visit the Toronto Maple Leafs in an “Original Six” matchup.
Artemi Panarin tallied three goals with an assist Thursday to lead New York to a 5-2 road win at the Detroit Red Wings. Panarin, who has five goals and six assists (11 points), is the first Ranger to have multiple points in each of the first four games of the season. Adam Fox dished out three assists and Vincent Trocheck posted one goal and three assists for New York.
Goalie Igor Shesterkin has posted solid numbers against the Maple Leafs in his career with a 5-2-2 record, a 2.64 GAA, and a .918 save percentage.

One NHL team happy to be home is the Philadelphia Flyers, who host the Vancouver Canucks in their first home game of the season.
The Flyers edged the Canucks on the road, 3-2 in a shootout, on Saturday, Oct. 12 for their first win of the season. Morgan Frost scored the game-winner in the fifth round for the Flyers. On their four-game West Coast trip, the Flyers had an overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers and scored three or more goals in losses to the Calgary Flames and Seattle Kraken.
With rookie sensation Matvei Michkov now in the fold, he will shine in his first game in the City of Brotherly Love to lead the Flyers to a win.

In another great matchup, the Boston Bruins visit the Utah Hockey Club.
The Bruins come into Salt Lake City off a 5-3 road win against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. Goalie Joonas Korpisalo made 22 saves to pick up his first win, and Hampus Lindholm posted one goal and an assist. David Pastrnak, Charlie Coyle, and Cole Koepke each tallied one goal apiece for the Bruins.
Utah posted a 2-2 record on their four-game road trip, ending with two straight losses, including a 5-4 overtime loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
This game will be tough throughout, but I’m giving the edge to Utah because of the home-ice advantage.
